I would love to get my hands on a dev kit for Google Glass. I can see what you are saying, there are a lot of uses for augmented reality. I would have to lean towards a minimalist approach with something ever-present like Google Glass, which seems to reflect close to what you said about needless swarms of technology. Yes, data visualization will be extremely handy as it advances, especially in augmented reality. I feel like data visualization is really the only way we are going to have any hope of effectively utilizing big data in decision-making. Maybe that's a narrow assumption, but I've done data analysis myself and now I look at big data and immediately want to go back to bed. It's just too much, we'll need unique ways of visualizing the information.
