Robots are coming

CyberParra

***"Robots are coming" ***is the event devoted to Robotics that I will lead tomorrow night at RomaMakers FabLab.

It's a cultural event where people are invited to bring books, comics, objects, games, toys, things related to robotic. Partecipants will read passages from the robotic's novels and books; moreover we will see cilps from movie, and we will talk about how the human labour will change

I know that time is very short, but would be great to have some contribution from you folks, that we can see tomorrow
for instance you could

  • create a short video where you read something about robotics
  • share image of old magazines
  • suggest readings
  • share whatever you think can be useful for the event

This sounds really interesting, Adriano! Thanks for including us in the fun.

Here's a recent article I read that I was reminded of when I saw your post:

One thing I am very interested in is the possibility of furthering sophisticated AI that designs user experiences like web sites and GUI. There has been some fun tinkering in this area for many years, but I would like to see it actually get substantive traction. Could we design AI that could in turn design user experiences for us better than we can on our own? That's weird to think about. I have a hard time thinking it would be meaningful to hand the creative and technical roles entirely over to AI for all or even most applications (we still need a truly human element in my opinion), but I bet we could learn a lot by continuing that kind of experimentation.

Here is a brand new video, that gives you a preview of flying, music-playing robots that will perform live in Washington, D.C. next week at a national festival. I for one, hope they skip the performance of the national anthem, however (it's last on the video).

Postuino is the simplest and most basic robot that was made to notify the computer user if she is leaning too close to the computer monitor.

Let's keep our good posture!

@Reem: nice. I guess it uses the ultrasonic sensor to check the distance

Thanks! That's right.

This is so cool. So much learning in a project like this. And so much fun. A want to build something... Now. smile

Some years ago I was working with Lego Mindstorms when we use the workshop to help children to develop some skills who Kohlberg name "ethic criteria" or ethic behaviour. How program a robot could help children to discover and develop skills to conduct their lives ethically?
Here is the paper We write then:
