Scratch Day - Sao Paulo - Brazil

heloisazal

Next May,17 we'll held a Scratch Day in Sao Paulo!!!! It's a small independent initiative, with a small group of 10 y o kids, who have never coded before. So we had to explain what it's about to the parents to have their children invited. We're tinkering a lot: computers, datashow, tables, conections, banners, stickers, all to be adapted at home.
We're planning a small presentation of Scratch followed by some time to play around with it. A small delicious lunch break, when they can visit stands with Lego We Do and Makey Makey (thinking if it isn't too much?) In the second part, they we'll be invited to make an small Scratch project. This involves a previous explanation to the parents, when their children was invited.
After the event, we will invite the parents to another meeting, when they will report, discuss and share the results of the event and their children's education expectations.
This is a pilot project that we hope will grow and grow!
Special thanks to fellows all around the world for the encouragement, help, suggestions in all their expertise and colaboration Martin Dillon and Sandy Coleman (US), Hajime Araki (Japan), Frederico Fernando (called "Grandpa Fred" by scratchers in Portugal), @Yves Collenot (France) and Bruno Bastos (my fellow in Brazil). Thank you all!
